πΉ Profit Turn: stocks that just turned profitable
Profit Turn watches for the moment a company's story changes from burning cash to making money: stocks whose latest filed quarter flipped to a net profit after losses, and stocks analysts expect to flip within the next two quarters. A first profit is often when a growth story starts being priced as a real business.
This guide is public. The service itself is live: the weekly report is included with Premium, alongside Hot Stocks.
Weekly report
The live weekly report β this week's TURNED and EXPECTED lists from the latest scan of SEC filings and analyst consensus β is on the service page (Premium members).

The two signals
The latest filed quarter (SEC EDGAR, 10-Q/10-K) shows net income above zero after the prior quarter was at or below zero β a genuine flip, with the flip quarter inside the last two reported quarters.
Still loss-making on filed quarters, but the analyst consensus (Nasdaq earnings forecasts) turns EPS positive within the next two quarters. The row shows the expected flip quarter and how many analysts stand behind it.
A badge on TURNED names with two consecutive positive quarters after losses β the antidote to a one-off quarter driven by an asset sale or a tax item.
The screens (proposed defaults)
The universe is U.S.-listed common stocks. A name must trade at least 250k shares a day and $5M a day on average, be priced at $2 or more, and clear a trailing-twelve-month revenue floor β $50M in most sectors, $25M in Healthcare, where development-stage norms differ. Financials are excluded in the first version: bank and insurer 'flips' are mostly credit-cycle noise. Revenue comes from EDGAR, not the scanner, so the floors rest on filed numbers.
Thin coverage is flagged, not hidden
EXPECTED rows backed by fewer than three analyst estimates carry a THIN flag. Consensus covers mid- and large-cap names well and thins out fast below that, so the EXPECTED list will naturally skew bigger than the TURNED list β the flag says so on the row.
Cadence & access
Fundamentals move on filings, not ticks, so the scan runs weekly; earnings season refreshes the list as new 10-Qs land. The service is included in Premium, alongside Hot Stocks. A natural workflow: spot a fresh flip here, then check its Distance report to see whether superinvestors hold it.
The honest limits
EDGAR lags filings by days to weeks after quarter end, so 'recent' is on a filing calendar, not a news calendar. One positive quarter can be a one-off β which is why every row shows the last four quarters of net income, so the trajectory (losses narrowing into the flip) is visible rather than hidden.
